East Africa Cup – Moshi 2008 ‘Much more than only football’

Eastern Africa’s finest young talent and most value added tournament
EAC Moshi 2008 saw some of Africa’s best young talent gathered together in one spectacular place, Moshi – Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, for education, sport, and intercultural relations. The tournament was held the 24th – 29th June 2008.
The teams came from Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda. This year’s tournament was even bigger than any other before it with 50 teams, 30 of them for boys (60%) and the other 20 being girls’ teams (40%). For the first time youth of the under 13 age bracket were able to participate, and despite initial uncertainty regarding how they would cope, the organizers were satisfied with their participation and will surely invite this age bracket to the next tournament.
East Africa Cup is very strong and growing. This tournament was activity packed with football matches, seminars, and entertainment.
